I have been writing to those disappointing Republican "Gang of 10" senators, protesting their capitulation to Democrat non-solutions to our country's domestic oil production crisis. What I haven't been doing enough of is writing to you and your brave house GOP colleagues, who are giving up your summer vacations in order to stand up for Americans. This letter is a great start and I pray that the five GOP Gang members come to their senses and actually heed it. What a winning issue this could be for Republicans this November!
I encourage you to continue the fight for American oil independence through expanding domestic drilling FIRST. Other “renewable” energy technologies simply cannot replace oil, gas and coal anytime soon, if ever. America’s continued greatness depends on a reliable and strategically safe supply of fossil fuels. Not only loosening drilling restrictions, but also increasing domestic refinery capacity, are essential.
